The Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP) is a technology platform that will enhance airline retailing, booking and servicing capabilities for Qantas Trade Partners and deliver a more personalised experience for customers.

Qantas invites its Trade Partners who are interested in presenting personalised content, tailored offers, and delivering innovative customer experiences to use this website and learn how your business can work with Qantas to share in our vision.

This website will ensure Trade Partners stay up to date with QDP announcements and our NDC vision.

About the Qantas Distribution Platform

The QDP is a technology platform which has been developed in partnership with leading travel technology company Farelogix Inc. and utilises IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard, and Application Program Interface (API) technology to:

  • Communicate richer information about the Qantas experience at the point of sale

  • Build and distribute new merchandising offers that leverage rich data

  • Create a more personalised customer experience

The QDP is IATA NDC Level 3 certified and is designed to allow new or existing Trade Partners to develop a connection to our NDC XML API. The QDP does not have a customer-facing user interface.

Why Qantas is developing a new distribution platform and embracing NDC

Customer preferences are evolving, and Qantas is responding by investing in technology which utilises NDC to offer a wider range of products and more dynamic content, which adds value for both customers and Trade Partners.

The QDP will improve the information that can be communicated between Qantas and its Trade Partners, beyond price, schedule and availability, enabling a more personalised customer experience.

The QDP improves the functionality of indirect agent channels by more closely aligning them with the capabilities currently available via Qantas.com, making it easier for trade partners to sell Qantas products and providing more seamless customer service.

The QDP enables our Trade Partners to deliver innovative, enhanced customer experiences, facilitating distinct benefits that span Tailored Offerings, Customer Loyalty Recognition, Best Available Offers and Seamless Servicing.

Qantas will be collaborating with our Trade Partners to shape the future roadmap of enhanced content, customer offers, functionality and innovative customer experiences, which will deliver increasing value to our mutual customers.



Being able to recognise our mutual customers enables us to know their preferences and provide an offer which is relevant to them. The QDP will provide Trade Partners with the ability to present customers at the time of booking with:

  • Special negotiated corporate fare conditions

  • Access to seat maps, and baggage allowance based on Qantas FF status

Recognising customer loyalty, and associated benefits is essential to customer retention. The QDP has the capability to recognise and present our mutual customers with:

  • Frequent Flyer tier status recognition

  • Qantas Frequent Flyer points and status credit eligibility

Being able to present our mutual customers with the best available offer based on their search enquiry is essential to remain competitive. Your customers have access to all Qantas published and eligible private fares through the QDP, and with Qantas constructing the offer the risk of Agency Debit Memos (ADMs) for incorrectly constructed fares is significantly reduced, assuring our mutual customers accuracy and transparency in the booking process.

Presenting rich, accurate information about Qantas Products and Services ensures our mutual customers can make informed purchasing decisions based on value and equips agents with the detail they need to provide the right recommendation.

QDP capabilities will include rich content images and video, branded fare rules, and the enablement of booking changes via partner technology closer to flight departure times~.
